This e-mail arrived at IRIS on
the afternoon of February 1st 2005, at a time when you would expect
most accountants to have their feet up, recovering from the
previous night's last minute efforts!

This is an
excellent example of the feedback that IRIS receives from its
customers and demonstrates the unique relationship that exists
between IRIS and its customer base. The firm, C A Hunter and
Partners in St Helens, Lancashire has been an IRIS customer for the
last four years.
Relatively new to IRIS (some customers have been with IRIS for
20 plus years), the firm previously used the Solution 6 personal
tax package, PerTax. A stand alone system installed around the time
of the introduction of Self Assessment, the practice had to input
figures from client accounts in order to produce the relevant tax
returns. Having mastered the program, the partners realised that
'integration' would help the practice to save man hours and they
started looking at suppliers that could offer integration between
accounts production and personal and business tax.

Keith Rotheram,
partner, explains "We looked at Viztopia but we weren't convinced
and then we had a look at the Sage offering of the time. Again, we
weren't impressed. The IRIS suite, on balance, offered us that next
stage of integration we needed and their reputation was reinforced
by a couple of calls to referees who were already using the
software and who were able to tell us what they thought about
it."
C A Hunter has experienced a stand alone system and realises
the limitations it brings. Integration through IRIS has changed the
way in which they work and the difference is clear to partners and
staff. Keith concluded with the ultimate accolade "Without it we'd
be lost. It's hard to compare IRIS to others but I don't need to.
It's a great product."
