Data conversion service

We are pleased to offer a range of data conversion services for our customers who have moved to IRIS Accounts Office and who wish to import information extracted from their existing accounts package.

Example accounts packages:

  • Sage Line50
  • QuickBooks
  • MYOB
  • TAS

To best meet the needs of all our customers we offer two data conversion services to select from:

Option 1 - Static Data Conversion: we will transfer your static data; Customer, Supplier and Stock records into your IRIS Accounts Office system ready for you to use.  This option of transferring only your static data means that after the conversion process has been carried out, the system will contain all your previous static information enabling a quick and easy transition to your new software.

Choosing this service means that your opening balances can be keyed manually into the system when it is most appropriate and convenient for you.  Read more...

Option 2 - Static Data Conversion with Opening Balances: we will transfer your static data; Customer, Supplier and Stock records, PLUS your Stock and Customer/Supplier opening balances.  The opening balance for your Trial Balance will need to be entered manually.

Choosing this service allows you to have your Opening Balances along with your static data records converted and imported into IRIS Accounts Office. Read more...

The timescale for conversions varies according to the volume of data to be transferred. Please read the following guidelines to ensure a prompt and efficient service:

At each major stage of the conversion process we will involve you to ensure the converted data meets your expectations.  This will, in part, be achieved through the completion of our Data Conversion Specification template prior to any data be converted.

Your data will be secure at all times with a Data Disclaimer being issued prior to the collection of your accounting information.

It is your own responsibility to ensure the integrity of your data before the conversion begins.  For example, we recommend running the Sage Line 50 File Maintenance Utility prior to any conversion being attempted on Sage Line 50 data.

The time taken for the conversion depends on the volume of data you have in your current accounting system.

The General Ledger structure for the converted data must conform to one of the templates provided with IRIS Accounts Office.  Variations or modifications to the General Ledger templates that we provide will incur additional time and costs.

All data conversion activities are completed at our offices by trained staff, with your input, to ensure a smooth transfer.
